Despair for Chelsea side who no more merited to lose than United merited to win. Some advocate Atkins, whilst others disagree the GI diet is king. Each was asked to follow a variety of diets for 6 months to work out the leading recipe for maintaining weight loss. The diets contained high or low levels of protein, joined with high or low GI foods. It is said the results can be explained by proteins capability to make us feel full for longer than carbohydrates. THE ATKINS DIET High protein : Fish with salad is a meal choice on the Atkins diet. Breakfast could be a cheese omelette and bacon, followed by lunch of a cheeseburger minus the bun but with salad and dressing. THE GI DIET Good carbs : Spaghetti is a low GI food which releases energy slowly. Breakfast may be porridge with wholemeal toast, followed by lentil soup for lunch and spaghetti with beef sauce for dinner. On the positive side, it is simple to find low GI versions of most foods, making the diet comparatively easy to follow. But it can be hard to work out the GI of an whole meal. And some low GI foods - like chocolate and crisps - are high in fat or salt. I think it's just the 1st couple of weeks that you do not eat fruit on the Atkins. Besides, the prettiest folk on the planet live on an Atkins style diet. I have been on the Atkins diet for over 10 years. Maybe, because I work out rigorously for an hour each day, I haven't had any complications. The sole downside of the Atkins diet is the pricetag ; protein isn't inexpensive in the USA so it's costlier than a GI diet. |
